Battery AH Explained
The best way to describe battery amp hour is that this is effectively the size of your fuel tank, the more amp hours your battery has then the longer the battery will last between charges. More amp hours does not increase the power of a given tool.
Battery Voltage Explained
A tool with a higher voltage than another is a bit like choosing an engine in a car, the higher voltage will generally mean higher power & performance. As with cars though a bigger engine does not always translate to better performance so it is important to compare the specifications of tools at different voltages between different manufacturers.
Bosch PowerForAll
The Bosch PowerForAll Tool range is a range of tools you can buy knowing that batteries are compatible with all tools in the range providing they are of the same voltage. eg 18v fits 18v, 12v (10.8v) fits 12v (10.8v) etc. Please also note that 10.8v is compatible with 12v & vice versa as it is just a name change. Indego Lawnmowers also use the PowerForAll 18v battery but require a cover plate to be removed if changing.
PowerForAll has many advantages not least the fact that once you have a tool with a few batteries then there is no need to buy the more expensive versions with battery & charger, you can just go ahead & buy the much cheaper no battery versions!
So remember PowerForAll signifies complete battery compatibility throughout the range. There is however, one caveat to this, some of the very first older chargers will not charge the very latest batteries & a battery charger upgrade will be required if you have a first generation charger. All batteries fit all tools however.
As of 2021 Bosch has licensed PowerForAll to other manufacturers whereby batteries between these manufacturers will be interchangeable.
Important
You cannot use Bosch Pro (Blue) batteries in either 12v or 18v DIY (Green) products.

All good, very pleased with purchase. Had Bosch products in the past, always been good quality. The same with this purchase, cuts well, decent length blade, battery life very good. Dislikes, none so far. Overall a good buy.
The Bosch AHS 50-20 LI Cordless Hedge Trimmer 500mm, was quite considerably heavier than I was anticipating. I bought it because it came up best of the light weight cordless hedge trimmers on an independent review. It did not cut through thicker branches as it claims it does, so I still had to get the wood saw and secateurs out. Because of the weight of the machine, I wasn't actually able to use it for very long and it can only be used in dry weather being an electrical item, so having to wait for a sunny dry day before trying again.
Service was perfect, would highly recommend. Hedge trimmer itself is good, light enough, easy to use, well balanced, battery lasted well. It doesn't handle what I would call medium sized stems as well as I had hoped, but it does a decent enough job. I haven't used any other trimmers so I can't compare.
Only used trimmer once so far to get a feel for the new machine. Easy to use, relatively light and cuts very well. My previous trimmer was mains powered, much heavier and not so effective. Battery powered much more convenient. Only time will tell whether or not battery charge will become an issue.
Very pleased with product, performed well on my mixed hawthorn/holly hedge. Battery arrived fully charged, battery life good was able to complete 40metre hedge - one side and top - with no loss of power. Enjoyed using cutter due to reasonable weight (2.4kg) and being free of electric cable, instead of my existing much heavier (4.4kg) cabled cutter - which I may use once a year for more severe cut backs. Overall would recommend due to very good cutting ability, lightweight, sturdy build and no longer fear of cutting cable. Also battery recharges in approx 45 mins
Does what it says on the tin, really happy with this piece of equipment

This product carries a full 3 year manufacturers warranty covering both faulty materials and faulty workmanship, it does not cover general wear and tear or damage, batteries, blades, bulbs and other consumables.
